dMAT Exam Fee 2026: Cost, Refunds & Deregistration Rules

Last updated 2026-09-10

The dMAT exam fee is €150, paid directly to g.a.s.t. — the test developer — during registration, usually by card or direct debit. APS India is not involved in collecting this fee; it only requires the resulting certificate afterward.

dMAT fee vs. APS certification fee

These are two separate charges to two separate organizations, and paying one has no effect on the other:

  • dMAT fee (€150) — paid to g.a.s.t., covers registering for and sitting the exam itself.
  • APS certification fee — paid to APS India separately, covers document verification and issuance of your APS certificate. APS India's own guidance states processing fees are non-refundable regardless of outcome. See the APS certificate guide for what that process involves.

Budget for both if you're an affected applicant — the dMAT doesn't replace or reduce anything on the APS side, it adds one certificate to the file.

Deregistration and refund rules

g.a.s.t.'s published terms set out three different outcomes depending on when you cancel:

  • Within 14 days of registering — under standard EU consumer cancellation rights, you can withdraw and receive a full refund, provided this falls before the exam itself.
  • After that, but before the registration deadline — you can still deregister through the participant portal, but g.a.s.t. and the test center are each entitled to charge an administrative fee of up to 15% of what you paid.
  • After the registration deadline, or if you simply don't show up or stop partway through — no refund, and no certificate is issued.

If g.a.s.t. cancels a test date itself (for example, for lack of examiners or too few participants), you're refunded in full regardless of timing. Full terms, including the cancellation form, are on g.a.s.t.'s terms and conditions page.

Score review fee (separate from the exam fee)

If you want to dispute or double-check your result after certification, a score review costs an additional €30 for one module (Core or General Academic) or €60 for both, refunded if the review changes your score. See the dMAT FAQ for the full appeal process and deadline.

Once you've budgeted for the fee, registration covers how to actually book your seat, and exam dates covers the fixed 2026 cycle timeline your deregistration window is measured against.

What does the dMAT exam cost?

€150, paid directly to g.a.s.t. during registration, usually by card or direct debit.

Is the dMAT fee the same as the APS certification fee?

No. They're two separate fees paid to two separate organizations — the €150 dMAT fee goes to g.a.s.t., which administers the test, while your APS certification fee goes to APS India for document verification. Paying one doesn't cover or reduce the other.

Can I get a refund if I deregister from the dMAT?

It depends on timing. Within 14 days of registering you get a full refund under standard EU consumer cancellation rights. After that but before the registration deadline, you can still deregister but g.a.s.t. and the test center may each charge an administrative fee of up to 15%. After the deadline, or if you don't show up, there's no refund.
