Three task types, one exam format
The dMAT Core Module is built from Figure Sequences, Mathematical Equations and Latin Squares — each with its own rule logic and timing.
Spot the visual pattern moving across a grid and pick the next two frames.
Practice Figure Sequences →2 × B = C
A = C + 2
Solve a small system of linear equations where letters stand for whole numbers.
Practice Mathematical Equations →Work out which letter is missing from a 5×5 grid where every row and column has A–E once.
Practice Latin Squares →Every guide, sourced and dated

Frequently asked questions
What does dMAT stand for?+−
dMAT stands for Digital Master Assessment Test — a standardized aptitude test introduced by APS India and g.a.s.t. as part of the APS documentation process for select Indian master's applicants, starting with the 2026 application cycle.
Do I actually need to take the dMAT?+−
Only if your previous degree falls under Engineering, Commerce/Accounting/Finance/Economics, or Business/Management, and you're applying for a Summer Semester 2027 intake or later. Check the eligibility page and the full affected fields list to confirm your specific degree.
Is the dMAT required if I'm applying for an MBA in Germany?+−
It depends on your previous (undergraduate) degree field, not the name of the master's programme you're applying for. APS India classifies eligibility strictly by your undergraduate degree title — so if that degree falls under Business/Management, Commerce/Accounting/Finance/Economics, or Engineering, the dMAT requirement can apply regardless of whether your target programme is an MBA or any other master's degree. Check the eligibility page and the full affected fields list for the exact classification of your degree.
Who administers the dMAT — APS India or someone else?+−
g.a.s.t. (Gesellschaft für Akademische Studienvorbereitung und Testentwicklung) handles all registration, payment, test delivery and certificate issuance. APS India only requires the resulting certificate as part of your documentation — it does not run the test.
I registered with APS or shipped my documents before the dMAT was announced. Am I affected?+−
No. Applicants who completed APS online registration or shipped physical application documents on or before 29 June 2026 are exempt under APS India's transitional rules, as are applicants who already hold an APS certificate.
